Photography/camera class

So as most people know I really enjoying taking pictures and have owned quite a few different cameras from point and shoots, to the digital cameras that are very similar to the DSLR and now I own a DSLR and every now and again I manage to get some pretty steller shots I must admit that I have no idea what I am really doing nor do I know what my cameras full potential is. I am a hands on learner so simply reading the manual did noting for me so I was left to my own devices and I went off to explore what I could do with it. I have done ok thus far but I would like to know how to work the other modes so I can control my aperture and my main goal is to figure out how to do long exposure so I can capture an awesome shot of the OKI light house. I have read things online and nothing has really clicked for me so I am taking a different route, an online class to be exact. Groupon was offering this opportunity for the class at a price that could not be passed up so I started this evening. So far it is going well, I made it to my first project so I need to work on that and submit it for feedback. All in all I am pretty excited to see what I learn after this is all said and done, I will keep you updated as I go forward.

The things he plays with...

So this evening we (the adults in the house) wanted to watch a movie. Well Corbin  hasn't been feeling well so when he went down for his nap he slept for a good bit, but when he woke up the movie was still on so he needed entertained. He decided to go into the closet and take out the band aids and have himself a good time as you can see... Such a silly boy, good thing they were junk ones that didn't even stick to itself.

Resolutions/Goals Continued

Hey all! So as mentioned in my previous post I was building my list of five year goal/ 2013 resolutions. I figure if I build this list and put it in writing I may be more willing to stick with them, so here it goes. I have broken them down into the ones that are more like resolutions and then the ones that will be on going and that I would like to see accomplished within the next five years.

Resolutions:

-To consume more water! I am terrible at this, I have never been a big fan of drinking water so needless to say I am lacking BIG time. Hopefully 2013 will be my year of hydration.
- Lead a healthier life. Rather than committing to drop some pounds or to change my eating habits 100% I want to just make healthier decisions while eating and drinking. I would like to see this be a family plan so we shall see how it goes, so far so good!
-Enjoy date nights Having a two year old makes enjoying the company of my husband next to impossible some times and being far from friends and family to keep an eye on the little guy makes it even trickier. So my hope is to have at a minimum of at least one date night a month to enjoy some adult time.

5 Year goals:

-Go to Disney World! If all would go as planned (which we know doesn't always happen) it would be great if we would be stationed next in Florida near DW and since Corbin will be prime age to enjoy it and remember it, it would be the perfect time for us to enjoy it.
-Buy a second car Currently having one car isn't all that bad BUT there have been times when it would have been MUCH easier if we would have had a second vehicle. That being said, hopefully in the near future, next five years, we will be in a position to get a second vehicle that is family/space friendly
-Check items off my 'house' bucket list. Being here at our first station and having to find a place to live I must say that I think I did a pretty good job considering the circumstances. We have the space we need and live in a great community with awesome amenities. After living here for a few years now though there are things in this house that we have decided that we definitely do not want again and things that we must have in our future homes. SO hopefully, again in a perfect world, we will be able to make those things happen and be happy in the places we live.

Well there you have it, I don't think any of those things are to wild and crazy. They are all realistic and I should be able to accomplish them, wish me luck!

Resolutions 2013

Its that time of year again, the end of the year and we are all thinking up our resolutions. It seems like every year I personally jump back and forth between the same ones, weight loss and over all health and I think I can speak for most women and say that we all say that's what we are going to. This year though I think I am going to take a different approach... Right after high school and my first round of college I sat myself down lol and made a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish over the (at the time) next five years and they involved a car, my career, where I was living and my education and I am now pleased to say that I accomplished all of those and that felt great!! So this year Rather than making a resolution and maybe not sticking with it I am going to restart my goal list and make it again for the next five years. I will have it out in my house to be a reminder of things to come and to help keep me on track to ensure that I do the best I can to accomplish those resolutions/goals. Life is to short to say you are going to do something and then fail at it only to try and have a re-do the following year.

Now this new list needs to be well thought out to ensure that these are realistic achievements and I need to set my time line, once I do that I will publish my list anddome best to keep you all up to date. On that note... to be continued
