Mission Potty Training Break Through!

So today was the BIG day, I took Corbin to school today in big boy underpants and hoped for the best. Now every bit of me was hoping to pick him up and find out that he was wearing the same clothes I took him to school  however that was not the case. Upon arriving I found him in his change of clothes and shoes and feeling a bit defeated the teacher quickly reassured me that it was her fault he had the accident and even though he had an accident he still managed to use the potty 3 more times!!!! I was beaming, such a huge step for him and I too. before leaving school I made him potty again since we were heading to a play date and while at the play date he went to the potty and he stayed dry during our trip to Wal-mart too!! Could this be, could this be our big break, could we be going over the hump to bigger and better things?! We arrived back at home for his afternoon snack and while snacking I thought I caught him in his 'position', the stare down grunt position that is. I quickly jumped into action hoping to stop the process. Although I was a tiny bit late to the party I was able to slow down the process long enough that he was able to have the big hooraah on the potty and it was GREAT! He was so thrilled with himself that he could hardly contain himself and neither could I, it was indeed a proud mama moment for sure. I let him get his 2 stickers on his potty chart and we did a happy dance after it was all said and done.

Today was a big day with lots of accomplishments, here's to hoping we continue on this good streak! Wish us luck!

Potty training is not as easy as one might think

So an update on this potty training business (pun intended). So today is day 4 of the mission and I guess it could be going worse, actually Corbin is really doing fantastic, I on the other hand am the one having frustrations (lol). Little man wore his big boy underpants all weekend, with the exception of when we went out to the store (I have no idea how to approach that just yet) and when he went to bed. Now I must say I thought about not putting the diaper on at night because for the most part he stays dry all night but for now we are taking the precaution. He will use the potty to go #1 just fine but #2 HA no that is another story. He will hold it until we put his diaper on at night or until I notice he may have to go and put the diaper on.

Well today he went back to school and I let the teachers know about our mission and they are right on board with it and have advised us to let him wear underpants to school SO come Wednesday that is what we will do! My little nugget is growing up way to fast! It was time for me to pick him from school and when I got there the teachers let me know that he kept a dry diaper while at school AND he used the potty (I WAS THRILLED AND COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER) so as a reward he got to get a happy meal! We get home, he eats and then it happened.... the thing that I have not been looking forward to during this whole task, #2 in his underpants. Now don't get me wrong, its not like I haven't wiped his bottom before BUT it gets taken to a whole new level when its inside underpants. I know this will happen more I am sure so I will just have to get used to it, for now, and hope he masters the potty sooner rather than later!

Here is to hoping that the rest of the week goes well and that it starts to become more of a routine for him now!

YAY Corbin!

It's POTTY time!

Hey y'all hope you are all staying warm, we are trying but it is so dang cold here in NC, I guess I shouldn't complain since after all there is no snow here (thank goodness!!)

So this weekend since it is going to be so cold and the dear husband will be home we will be tackling the potty!! Now we have already been easing into this so it will be no big surprise to Corbin BUT rather than slamming a diaper on him and asking about the potty every so often we will be going full on big boy underpants and deal with the accidents as they come. Hopefully after 3 full days of it we will have some progress (FINGERS CROSSED)! Wish us luck and I will keep you posted!
