Origami Owl- my new adventure

For about a year now I have been trying to figure out a way to work from home in a legitimate way in order to bring in a few extra bucks, keep myself busy, and put my Business degree to use. Well around mid March if found my next adventure.

Let me recap, a while back I stumbled upon these awesome necklaces on Pinterest, I repined it and went on my way. Well then I came across them again and this time I looked a little further into them and I discovered an amazing company and product this is.

Origami Owl is a company that was started by a 14 year old girl, Bella, who wanted to purchase her own car for her 16th birthday. What started out as a few booths in malls has now turned into a blooming direct sales company. I have never been one to sell things with the other companies out there such as Avon, Thirty-One, or Mary Kay just to name a few. Those companies were just not selling things that I had any interest in. If I am going to try and sell something to 'you' I need to love it, have a passion for it in order to make you love it as well. This company does that for me and then some. The products are beautiful, the prices are reasonable and they are unique, what more could you want!!

I was a little hesitant at first since I have never done any type of work like this before but I knew I had to take the chance. This is a new company with a great opportunity and I wanted to have the chance to be with them from the beginning.

I received my business kit and now I am working on building my customer base. I have made 2 sales so far and I am building my fan base on Facebook which you can find here, http://www.facebook.com/OrigamiOwlShaeDeHonneyIndependentDesigner. Currently I am running a contest for 3 free charms once I reach 100 followers and we are all waiting for the release of the new Spring/Summer catalog that will include all kinds of new products, a new hostess rewards program, and all kinds of other new goodies for all of you to enjoy and love.

I am really excited to get started with this company and to learn things that I have never had to do before and hopefully be a success at it, but at least I can say I tried!

If you are interested in learning more about the products please feel free to contact me at:

Our bank account just got a little bigger....

Since I am basically using this blog to track life events and since I posted a few times about our potty training adventure, I thought I should go ahead and mention that we are no longer wearing diapers!!! In fact its been for a little over a month now so shame on me for just getting around to writing this. We are still using a pull up at bed time BUT he stays dry over night which is awesome, but I don't want to rush him because I know the moment I dont make him wear one we will have a wet mattress and who wants that?! Other than at night though we are in the big boy underpants and very few to no accidents at all. We are to the point now that he will run and tell us he has to go. Since I am new to this whole having a kid thing lol and potty training, I may be doing this all wrong BUT since he is a boy and when the event comes up that he is screaming he has to 'pee pee' while we are out on a walk or outside some where we will just shuffle him along to a hiding place and let him drop his pants. I don't know maybe thats wrong but I would rather him do that then chance trying to run to a bathroom somewhere if at all chance him wetting his pants. Hopefully by the end of summer we will be without pull ups all together! Way to go Corbin!!!

Sunny day, no wind, ALMOST summer

This past weekend as our first real sunny and warm day and there was no wind to give us a chill so of course we took advantage of this and went to the beach to frolic and play!

Since it has been some time since we had taken the dog and it was such a nice day we opted to head clear down to the end of OKI to the 'Point' as the locals call it and pick a spot there. The point is the very end of OKI and it is where the ocean meets the ICW. It is how local boats are also able to access the ocean. the water here tends to be less aggressive and the beach seems to be less traveled as well, since you have to drive all the way down the island to get to it so it was perfect for everyone to enjoy.

As always my fearless water bug could have cared less that the water was so blasted cold still ad the dog didn't care either I guess cause he jumped in too. I however laid my blanket out and enjoyed the sunshine. PLEASE NOTE: when in doubt, wear sun screen, later in the evening I was regretting not listening to my husband (shh don't tell him that) my back was burnt up...I got my base tan started... I guess.

Finally doing something with the sand other than eating it!

Lets have story time

Corbin has always enjoyed reading but his attention span never lasted for more than a page or two. Recently he has really taken a liking to having books read to him before bed and I will not deny him that. Last night he requested that daddy read him a story and the book he picked was his Thomas the train busy book. I try not to interfere when they are having father son time since Corbin always has his time with mommy but as I sat on the couch I could hear them chatting and Corbin telling his daddy about the story and all his little train pieces that I could just not resist sneaking to snap some pictures of the moment.
