So today was Mothers day, my second one a matter of fact and it was a great day! Our day started by me waking up to my little man laying next to me. Just the look on his face when he wakes up just makes my world go round. As we started our daily routine with a diaper change I was explaining to Corbin what today was all about. He looked at me as though he understood what I was saying, and after I wrapped his bottom back up he darted to the toy box. He pulled out his train an held it out to me proclaiming his 'too-too' with those cute little lips and I couldn't help but giggle. I again looked at him and said , Corbin it's mothers day, are you going to tell mama you love her? He looked at me and blew me a kiss, which is how he says 'I love you' so I accepted that. Then he reached into his toy box and pulled out his green bead necklace from the st. Pats parade and placed them around my neck, as if he were saying, here look what I got you! It was perfect, he is perfect! We made our way to the kitchen to eat our cereal and watch cartoons. Now originally we were invited to a friends house for dinner but I decided to have a lazy day. We cuddled up on the love sac and we started our lazy cuddle day by watching Dumbo, I forgot how much I liked that movie. Watching Corbin giggle at it just made me smile. Then we moved on to watch Garfield, and a few other shows that were on. We took a break in between to do some laundry, and pull out our suitcase for our trip back to Pittsburgh this weekend. He helped me drag the garbage cans to the curb and water my flowers. Despite bring lazy we had a pretty productive day! After all that I decided to spoil us a bit an order some pizza, boy of boy does this kid like pizza! We enjoyed our guilty pleasure and continued to watch tv and be lazy.
I decided today that on days like this, holidays, or days of significance I want to write to Corbin, either here in my blog or in a letter just letting him know what we did, how are day was, and just how much I really love him. Some day when he is older he will be able to have them and look back and see what things he did as a young man. Now as I finish this entry I hear him breathing next to me, mama caved and let him continue the cuddles in her bed, I can say that even though my hubby had to work all this weekend and could not share the day with us, I am happy an thankful that I got to share it with my little man who would not be here if it were not for my husband, and me too of course! I love them both so very much! Happy mothers day all!
This is a catch all... a place for me to collect my thoughts, share my significant stories, and my new found hobbies of crafting and photography.

Thoughts and dreams
Growing up as a little girl I think it's in us all to dream about growing up and having our own family an what it will be like and the things we will do, I know I did any how! As a little girl I can remember thinking to the future and imagining what my 'prince charming' would be like and then some day we would have children and of course I imagined having a little girl of my own, again what girl doesn't? Thinking of all the things you can teacher her, doing her hair, painting her nails, playing tea party and with baby dolls. All the things I did as a girl I would get to do again with my own little girl, how cool!
Now here I am all grown up, with my 'prince charming' kind of ( love you hunny!) and my own child... A little boy! Wait a second this was not a part of the plan, this was not in my dreams! (Now before you get your panties in a bunch let me just say I LOVE my little man more than life itself! I would not trade him for anything! )
So now what? I'm a girl, a women I mean what can I teach a little boy? I don't know anything about boys well nothing I can teach him anyways. I like the color pink, and doing my hair, and wearing heels and playing with dolls. I am not a big fan if getting dirty, lord knows I really dislike creepy crawly things (praying Corbin NEVER brings a snake home), and I pee sitting down! I have nothing to offer this child, my little man, I have to hand him over to his father, he knows best, ugh, in this instance any ways.
Well I am here to tell you I think I may have had it all wrong! Maybe everyone has it all wrong. Since having my little man I have had the opportunity to teach him so many things, for starters he knows how to give the best snuggles cause of me (smiles), as he is growing and learning we now work on his vocabulary and how to do new and exciting things everyday! Today though, today really made me change my mind about it all. For me when I think of a father son relationship the first picture that pops into my head is of a little boy standing next to his dad in the bathroom mocking him while he shaves, now tonight I had my own 'shaving' moment!
Getting ready for bed as usual I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth, now this is something we have recently started doing with Corbin too so he had already brushed his 'tees' for the night. Well that didn't stop him, he hear me turn on the sink and he bolted in, hurried his little leg up onto the toilet and pulled himself up to stand on it, next to me, to watch as I brushed me 'tees'! Made me giggle as I watched him watch me he was just so fascinated by the whole act. He then looked around and saw it, the extra tooth brush in the cup we put the for him. His eyes lit up as he grabbed it and looked at me and said 'tees' and then held out the brush. Who could resist that, not me that's for sure! So I turned on the water and he stretched his arm out to wet the brush and began to brush aka suck the water out of the brush. As I rinsed and spit so did he, watching my moves to make sure he didn't miss a beat. Once we were all done he put his brush back just like I did and then smiled at me with a look of accomplishment. I was so happy and proud and full of joy, I had taught him that!
The moral of this story, he may not play with dolls or pee sitting down but I sure am teaching him a lot! Man do I love that little boy!

Adventures in Chuck town!
Hello all! Been a little busy lately but thought I would fill you in on our recent adventure! A friend of mine here in NC and her daughter (Corbin's GF) took a trip to Charleston, SC. This is my friends hometown so she acted as our tour guide. It gave us a chance to have some time away from home, with our babies, and to enjoy ourselves. Now before we left we were well aware of what we may be getting into... Let me explain.... We have been hanging out since our little ones were about four months old and it has been such a joy to watch our little nuggets grow up together, see they are only about 2 weeks apart, Corbin being older than TL. Well my little monster has always been the bully in the friendship and poor TL has taken a beating, well since she has gotten older she has gotten better at dishing out the beatings as well so anytime these two get together its always an adventure, and since they are both very mobile we never can tell what we will get into.
Well we started our road trip very early in the morning and kept our fingers crossed that we didn't have any melt downs and thankfully we didn't. Both kids did great in the car! The first night we enjoyed spending time with my friends mama and having a cook out and both kids enjoyed getting lovins from 'Grand-mommy' and playing. That night in the hotel, oh what a trip. My monster was the first to climb up on the AC unit and bang on the window and monkey see monkey do so TL joined him. The next day we spend time exploring downtown Charleston and seeing the sights. I was really showing my tourist side, I saw a cruise ship and got so excited lol I guess I need to get out more. We enjoyed checking out Waterfront park and letting the kids play in the fountains and chasing squirrel, and the historic downtown market. That night we headed back to the hotel early because we were all beat. We enjoyed some delicious pizza and french fries and played with the kids in the pool. We made our way back to NC the next day and again we made it back with out any serious issues. All in all the trip was a great success, the kids had fun, the adults had fun, and we are still friends (ha ha). I can see us taking a trip somewhere else again someday. Here are a few shots from the trip, enjoy!

Mini getaway
Hello all! I hope you all have not missed my antics too much, its been pretty busy around here and I took some time away from technology to spend some much needed R&R with my little family. Last week the hubs took leave from work so we could just enjoy some down time and boy did we pick a perfect week to do that. The weather was beyond gorgeous. We managed to get some things done around the house and the whole family took a trip to the dentist. Let me just tell you, Corbin was not a fan of this AT ALL. Despite my smooth talking and bribery with a a tooth brush he was less than thrilled when the dentist forced open his mouth. All those chompers look A-ok though so no worries.
On Thursday we had his 15 month check up and found out that my hunch was correct, he did have a growth spurt. His height did not change much he sprouted up about an inch but his weight, well he gained almost 4 lbs since his 1 year check up (Even though he still looks super skinny) I think all the weight is in his feet lol considering he jumped from a 5.5 W to a 7W in about a two month time frame. The Dr. says we should expect to see a jump in his height next so we will see how this goes. Until then I guess he will just be eating me out of house and home as little boys do.
Right after his appointment we jetted off to Raleigh! We wanted to take a mini vacation and Raleigh has an AMAZING children's museum, Marbles Kids Museum, if you have never been and have the opportunity GO! I don't know who had more fun Corbin or us! They have so many interactive exhibits and things for kids to do it was just great. At first I was worried that Corbin would be too young for some of the things but that feeling quickly passed as I saw him run from place to place with such a look of joy and excitement for all the new things that he saw. Needless to say I can see us taking another trip back to Raleigh before we leave NC to visit that museum.
During our visit we stayed right in downtown Raleigh on Fayettville St. Raleigh is a really cute city, a mix between Philly (as far as the historical buildings goes) and Pittsburgh (for city life). The city itself was maybe five square blocks, rather small compared to what we are used to so we were able to walk everywhere which was really nice. Corbin got a big kick out of being able to look out of our hotel window and see all the cars on the street below. He also proved to us that no matter how big our bed is (king size at the hotel) that he will indeed take up the whole thing. We ventured to the capital building and ran around in the grass there, we enjoyed the natural science and history museum, both of which have free admission, we ventured up to Durham to do some shopping at their ginormous mall, Southpoint, and on our last day we got to see how Raleigh celebrates St. Patrick's Day. They had a really wonderful parade which lasted about 2 hrs and Corbin sat nicely through the whole thing and then there was a small festival where we enjoyed some good food and people watching. The last night in Raleigh before we left we treated ourselves to a fun ride on a rickshaw, it was by far one of the coolest things ever! We had so much fun being peddled around the city at night and the baby enjoyed himself too, I suggest anyone to try that at least once too. The whole trip was really wonderful and I am so glad we got a chance to do it. We are back into the swing of things now at home and it seems as though I am getting sick, or maybe this darn pine pollen is too much for me. Either way not feeling 100%, I am hoping this passes quickly and I can get back to myself soon cause Lord knows Corbin doesn't slow down for a minute.
Well I will leave you with some shots from our trip, enjoy and Happy Monday!
